Tuesday Tidbits—#3: Walnut Furniture Fix

Tuesday Tidbits—#3: Walnut Furniture Fix

Warning: May contain nuts or may have been written by one. Those with nut allergies. . . ye have been warned.

I was walking through our front yard yesterday morning and saw some hickory nuts on the ground. That got me singing about chestnuts roasting on an open fire, but since Jack Frost is nipping nothing right now in Charlotte, that song passed. So, we turn to walnuts and a great piece of old school wisdom. . .

If you have a small/light scratch on your hardwood floors (especially lighter shades) or furniture, you can use a walnut to fix it!

Steps:

  1. Rub the walnut on the scratch.

  2. If you spent less than 5 seconds on step one, you may eat the walnut now. #5secondrule

  3. Use the flesh/meat of the nut and not the shell.

  4. If you did step 1 before reading step 3, see step 5.

  5. Didn’t you know you’re supposed to read all the directions before starting something?

  6. Rub the scratch with your finger till it gets warm (this helps the wood soak up the oil).
